The City of Lincoln and developer Simons have been named Best Partnership at the East Midlands Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards.
The East Midlands LABC Excellence awards are held to shine light on the best constructions in the area based on quality and construction teams. City of Lincoln and Simons began their partnership in 1999 have since built a fruitful relationship.
“Since we developed this partnership 11 years ago, the working relationship between ourselves and Simons has continued to strengthen as we strive towards helping Simons deliver projects on time, within budget and with certainty,” said Phil King, Building Control Service Manager at the City of Lincoln Council.
The duo have worked together on 400 projects and are currently undertaking a multi-million pound project in Cheshire Oaks (pictured). The project details a new flagship store for Marks and Spencer which would be “the first complete new store that the retailer has build for 15 years.”
With this project City of Lincoln council will work along side Simons to make sure all structural and fire regulations are met. “We are proud of our work and relationship with Simons and long may it continue,” King said.
After winning the award they will move on to the next stage of the competition where they will compete against other LABC regions. The national awards will be held in London this October.
