Angry dad provoked to fight

Provoked: A father tried to walk away from a fight as a man goaded him into a response.

Provoked dad Mark Anthony Falco tried to walk away from a fight as a man goaded him into a response, a court heard.

Lincoln magistrates watched CCTV footage which showed Falco being provoked as he walked along the High Street with a companion.

Falco walked away twice and then walked back and hit and punched and kicked the man who was walking towards them.

Marie Stace, prosecuting, said the man went to hospital and was found to have no serious injuries.

“Falco admitted he had been involved in public disorder with two other men,” Stace said. Falco (25) of Clarenden View, Ermine, Lincoln admitted using threatening behaviour.

Justin Atkinson, representing, said Falco and the men were drinking, and he had provoked Falco to fight.

“He told the man to go away but he persisted in his attempts to get Falco and his companion to fight by uttering things about his daughter who has been ill in hospital since birth,” Atkinson said.

Magistrates imposed a 12-month supervision order, with a condition to atend anger management.
