Toddler hit by van on High Street

Accident: A 2-year-old girl was hit by a van at a pedestrian crossing on the High Street, as she escaped from her pushchair.

A 2-year-old girl was hit by a van on the High Street, as her mum was waiting to cross the road  at a pedestrian crossing. The incident happened on July 20 at 3.20pm.

The mother was waiting to cross the road at the junction of High Street and St Mary’s Street, when her toddler got out of her pushchair. A Ford Transit Van was slowly moving along and hit the girl.

The toddler received minor injuries, and was taken for treatment at the Lincoln County Hospital, where she was detained overnight for observation. The local man driving the van (39) was not injured.
