Fire at school ‛suspicious’, say police

Suspicious blaze: Lincoln Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire at a Primary school in Lincoln.

City police are currently investigating a fire at Hartsholme Primary School, and Scenes of Crime Officers are deeming the blaze suspicious.

The incident was reported at 12.25am, when Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire & Rescue from North and South divisions were called out to the blaze at the school.

The fire started in rear outbuildings, and spread to the main building, burning approximately 1,200 square meters of the school.

Police are still trying to find out what started the blaze.

Workers on site are repairing the damaged building.

Piles of debris were removed from the affected buildings.
