Fit shopping: Shoppers in Lincoln this weekend could try out some dance and martial art lessons for free.

Lincoln shoppers will will find this weekend dance and martial arts lessons in the City Square, and they can take part in for free.

City of Lincoln Council and Active Nation have teamed up to bring the sessions to Lincoln as part of the third Health Awareness Day.

On September 25 from 10am, people can have a go at spinning, body combat, and martial arts, or try salsa dancing and tai chi (pictured).

People can also get information on the council’s health services, such as Health Trainers, Activ8, Sport Development and Active Nation as well as chat to epresentatives from Satori Martial Arts and Smokefree Homes.

Councillor Alister Williams said: “We’re bringing our services into the city centre to let people know about the wide variety of ways they can get active.

“I’ll be there myself on Saturday, and I’d encourage anyone who is in the city centre to come along and visit the stand, have a go at one of the activities and see if there’s something for you.”
