Monks Rd burglaries prompt police warning

Burglaries galore: Police are advising residents to make their homes look occupied when they are not at home.

A number of burglaries in the Monks Road area of Lincoln have prompted Lincolnshire Police to issue a preemptive warning.

In just 24 hours between Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16, three burglaries were reported in the area.

Thieves got into a house on Baggholme Road through a window at the back, leaving with two laptops worth £700 and clothing.

Another house on Florence Street had a window smashed with a brick when offenders got in, but it is unknown what was stolen.

Police say some burglars also tried to break in through the door of a house on Sewell Road, but failed to get in.

Lincolnshire Police are advising residents in the area to make sure they lock all their doors and windows, even when they are at home.

Another tip from the police is to make their houses look occupied even when not at home, by leaving the lights on in the early evening.
