Great expectations for Lincoln Drill Hall

Classic novel: Another of Charles Dickens’ work will be performed at the Lincoln Drill Hall.

Lincoln Drill Hall will be playing host to a group of Charles Dickens’ most well-known characters this month.

The stage version of Great Expectations by Common Ground Theatre Company will come to the city on November 25 to 27.

The popular novel tells the tale of village boy Pip, who is accosted by a convict in a graveyard. Pip steals food for the convict, who he meets again years later.

Pip is then taken under the wing of old spinster Miss Havisham, where he falls in love with her ward, Estella.

He later finds out he is to go and become a gentleman, and he believes that Miss Havisham was his benefactor. However this may not be the truth…

Common Ground Theatre Company have been to the Drill Hall and performed a Dickens masterpiece before — A Christmas Carol in 2007.

The sows start at 7.30pm (2.30pm for the Saturday matinée) and tickets start at £8. Tickets can be booked at the Drill Hall Box Office.
