Iconic fox heading to Lincoln

Boom Boom! Nation’s children’s TV icon Basil Brush will be visiting the Theatre Royal this month.

An iconic children’s TV hero will make his way to Lincoln Theatre Royal this month.

Popular fox puppet Basil Brush will be doing a show on November 14, along with his 21st century friend, Mr Stephen (Chris Pizzey).

He will also bring along some friends, such as nation’s sweetheart Cheryl Chimp and acrobatic The Amazing Jeni.

The Basil Brush Show originally aired in 1968, accompanied by Rodney Bewes as Mr Rodney, although Basil first appeared in 1963.

Throughout the first 12 years of the show, the plum-voiced fox was also accompanied by Mr Derek, Mr Roy, Mr Howard, and Mr Billy.

After a 16-year hiatus, Basil returned in 2002 to the BBC with Mr Stephen and two children, Molly and Dave.

Other than his posh voice and fluffy fox ‘brush’ (a fox tail) Basil is most known for his catchphrase “Ha ha ha! Boom Boom!” when he finds something funny.

Tickets to the family show start at £10, which begins at 2pm. Tickets can be booked from the Theatre Royal’s Box Office on 01522 519 999.
