B&B Oscars: A guest house in Lincoln was ranked as one of the top 10 B&B’s in the world.

A guest house in Lincoln was ranked as one of the top 10 B&B’s in the world.

Creston Villa Guest House on St. Catherines in Lincoln took the eighth place in travel site TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice awards.

TripAdvisor travellers have called the Creston Villa Guest House “an absolute gem” and “the best place in Lincoln”.

Despite its world ranking, Creston Villa only charges visitors £48 for a single room per night, or £65 for a twin or double room.

The Creston Villa is owned by Anna and Iain Brown (pictured), and offers five bedrooms in the traditional Victorian town house, built around 1874.

Iain Brown said: “We’re thrilled to be recognised by TripAdvisor as a 2011 Travellers’ Choice award-winning Guest House.

“We believe our commitment to providing our guests with outstanding service and value has helped us achieve this tremendous honour from TripAdvisor travellers as one of the best B&Bs in the world.”

“The awards celebrate the stars of the British hotel industry and Creston Villa Guest House is a worthy winner,” added TripAdvisor spokesperson Emma O’Boyle.

The Old Manse in Invermoriston, Scotland this year took the coveted accolade of the World’s Best B&B.

The TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award winners for 2011 were determined by a combination of TripAdvisor’s Popularity Index and traveller ratings of specific property attributes.

The hotel review process on TripAdvisor also allows travellers to “grade” hotels based on a variety of attributes like cleanliness, value and suitability for specific types of travellers.
