Burglaries: A spate of burglaries in the Monks Road area of Lincoln prompted a police appeal for information.

A spate of burglaries in the Monks Road area of Lincoln prompted a police public appeal for information.

Several incidents took place in the area and Lincolnshire Police are urging residents to be vigilant.

Thieves broke into a house in Avondale Street between 7am on January 13 and the early hours of January 15. Two laptops and some jewellery were taken.

Thieves climbed through an open window in Monks Leys Terrace between 3.30pm and 4pm on January 15 and stole a handbag, a wallet and a phone.

An offender got into a house in John Street between 5.30pm and 7.15pm on January 15 and stole two laptops.

And at around 1.30pm on January 15 two men were disturbed while they were trying to break into a house in Hugh’s Street by removing a cat flap.

The men were reported to be both white, skinny and in their mid-20s. One was wearing a bright orange fleece and jeans.

Residents in the area are being asked to look out for suspicious activity and to ring the police with any information they may have.

Patrols have been stepped up in a bid to catch the criminals.
