Woman dies in bypass collision [U1]

Collision: The A46 was closed due to a traffic collision, involving a pedestrian.

— Update 1 on January 31 @ 11am: Lincolnshire Police have now identified the pedestrian as 61-year-old Patricia Self of Hazelwood Avenue, Lincoln.

A police investigation into her death is still ongoing. Anyone with any information should contact the police, quoting incident number 472 of January 28.

— Original: A vehicle collision on the A46 led to the death of a pedestrian and the bypass being closed for almost 12 hours.

The incident occurred at around 8.30pm on January 28, between the A46 Carholme and Skellingthorpe roundabouts.

The female pedestrian was caught up in the incident, involving more than one vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The A46 southbound between the roundabouts are now open, but was closed overnight and on Saturday, January 29 only had one lane open until midday.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who travelled the bypass between 8pm and 9pm on Friday evening, and should contact them on 0300 111 0300.
