B1188 Nocton fatal crash victim named

Bike crash: A local man has died on Saturday following injuries suffered from a bike crash near Lincoln.

— Update on February 17: Lincolnshire Police have named the deceased in the B1188 Nocton crash as Darren Beedham (37), of Queen Elizabeth Road, Lincoln.

Beedham’s family is expected to pay their tributes on Friday.

A Facebook page has been opened in Beedham’s memory, with over 250 people paying tribute to him so far.


— February 12 @ 3.53pm: A man has died on Saturday, February 12, following injuries suffered from a bike crash.

Police were called to the B1188 Lincoln Road at Nocton at around 12.30pm after reports that a motorbike had left the road and its driver was injured.

Officers attended and the rider of the white Suzuki bike, who is believed to be a local man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved at this stage and no one else was hurt.

No further details of the deceased are available at the moment and he is unlikely to be named until Monday, February 14.

Police have closed B1188 Lincoln Road at Nocton after the crash and confirmed the road will be closed for some time.

The Highways Team has put diversions in place at B1188 Potterhanworth junction and police advise motorists to avoid the area on Saturday.

This is the ninth person to be killed so far this year on Lincolnshire’s roads compared with four at the same time last year.
