Healthy city walks gain national accreditation

Winning walks: Walking routes in and around Lincoln have been re-accredited, gaining national recognition.

City of Lincoln Health Walks has had its accreditation renewed by Natural England initiative Walking for Health.

The organised walks by the City of Lincoln Council were accredited on February 16 and met all criteria required, including safe beginner walks.

Now it is accredited, City of Lincoln Health Walks will be recognised by health professionals, prospective partners and funders as well as being part a national scheme.

Scheme Co-ordinator of City of Lincoln Health Walks Natalie Fenwick said: “To re-gain accreditation we are very proud as it shows the hard work and dedication of the City of Lincoln Health Walks team members.

“It is a great feeling knowing that City of Lincoln is leading in the right direction for healthier lives and that our Health Walks meet the necessary criteria for accreditation.”
