Drill Hall launches new room

New room: Lincoln Drill Hall launched a new intimate performance room, aimed at theatre groups.

Lincoln Drill hall is about to unveil a brand new events room, named The Room Upstairs.

Launching tonight, April 28, the room will mainly be used as a small theatre space, which includes a full theatre lighting rig, sound technology and drapes.

It is hoped the room will also be used for rehearsing and creating new work or production, as well as workshops.

The room will be launched with Rebecca Peyton’s Sometimes I Laugh Like My Sister as well as a talk by the actress.

The Lincoln Drill Hall also hopes The Room Upstairs will become a hothouse for emerging writing and performing talent, for rehearsing and creating new work and for bringing small scale productions to fruition ready for touring as well as for professional development, education and workshops.

Tickets for Sometimes I Laugh Like My Sister in the Ruston Room are also available to the public, costing £7. The event is also on April 28, at 8.30pm.
