Woman sexually assaulted on Monks Road

Assault: A woman has been sexually assaulted along Monks Road after a night out with friends.

Police in Lincoln are urgently seeking information in relation to a sexual assault in the city on Monday.

The incident happened between 3am to 9am on May 11 on Monks Road, where a 24-year-old woman is believed to have been assaulted after a night out with friends.

The victim is described as 5’6, white, with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing black leggings and a light top with brown pin stripes.

She was sitting on the pavement outside Lincoln College around 1am to 3am. Police know a number of people stopped to talk to her, including two men on bicycles and one on a bike.

So far, a 35-year-old man from Lincoln has been arrested in connection and is currently on bail to return to the police station.

The incident is not being linked with any other offences, but police would like to speak to anyone who stopped to talk to the woman on Monks Road that morning.
