Five assault man on Portland Street

Pushed and kicked: Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Lincoln on Portland Street.

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted by five other men in Lincoln, at around 10.30pm on July 24 on Portland Street.

The victim was in the road near a grey Renault Laguna when he was approached by five men. They asked him for a cigarette, and when he refused they became aggressive.

The victim claims to have thrown a punch at one of the offenders in self defence. He was then set upon by the group, who punched him, pushed him to the ground and then kicked him repeatedly.

The victim was left with a broken arm which was operated on and bruising. He has been discharged from hospital. The group of offenders also smashed a window on the Renault Laguna.

The offenders are all white, between 20 and 30 and described as having “Eastern European” accents. One of the men is described as “quite fat” with short shaved hair.
