Two Lincolnshire schools finished top of the Regional High 5 Netball finals last week.

Rauceby School and Lincoln St Hugh’s School finished first and second in the competition, which was held in Northampton.

All teams that took part had won their School Sports Partnership league, which led to them being entered into the county finals in May.

All those that won the round were entered into the regional finals, which happened last weekend.

Maria Blood, from St Hugh’s School, said that competitions like this have always existed for football and “it’s great to now see more opportunities for netball.”

Blood added: “Perhaps in the future this could go even further — to a national level.”

Louise Key, the Netball Development Officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, is proud of the two teams, calling it “a huge achievement”.

Key said: “I am very proud that our two Lincolnshire teams finished first and second, and I hope we continue this great form next season.”
