More copper house pipes stolen in Lincoln

Metal theft: Thieves are still targeting empty homes in Lincoln to steal the copper piping inside.

Lincolnshire police are appealing for information after more copper pipes have been stolen in Lincoln.

An incident happened between the afternoon of July 22 and Sunday morning, July 24, on Goldsmith Walk, Lincoln.

Offenders got in through a ground floor window, stealing copper pipes and a boiler. The theft caused extensive damage to the home.

Thieves are currently targeting copper in homes (especially unoccupied ones) due to the high value of the metal at scrap yards.

Police urge landlords to invest in better security measures for their empty homes, and to check the properties regularly.

Residents are also being asked to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their area, with detail description of possible offenders and vehicles.

To give police information on activity, call 0300 111 0300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
