Netball sessions start for any Lincoln lady

Relaxing Sport: Women who want to play non-competitive netball can join a new group session near the city.

Ladies in Lincoln are being invited to a new netball session, which started running last week.

The Back to Netball scheme, held at Hammond Hall, Bassingham, is for ladies aged 16 and over looking to play non-competitive netball.

The session has so far had over 20 people attending, but the club is happy to welcome more members.

Louise Key, England Netball Development Officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership said: “We are really pleased to be able to provide women with the opportunity to begin playing Netball again in a social, friendly setting.

“Once the ladies are confident they may wish to then form a village club and then progress to more competitive game.

“Our long term view would be to develop an inclusive club with juniors and seniors for the whole parish.”

The session are to provide people with a gentle introduction to the sport, which will also help ladies get active, rediscover ability or try for the first time.

The sessions are held every Monday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm, and cost £2.50.
