Tesco work prompts delays on Grantham Rd

Road works: The County Council are advising motorists to avoid a road in Bracebridge Heath due to works.

Motorists are being warned to allow for delays on the journeys or to find an alternative route as work is being undertaken for a new Tesco on Grantham Road.

The work on the A607 at Bracebridge Heath will disrupt motorists for the next two weeks, with the work ending on July 15.

Western Power Distribution is carrying out the work on behalf of Tesco to connect the new store to the electricity mains.

In order to do so, pavements and roads are having to be dug up.

Delays have already been reported for July 4 and July 5, so motorists are being encouraged to find different routes in and out of Lincoln, especially during rush hour.

— Update: According to an eye witness, Bracebridge Heath is at a standstill. The A15 crossroad is being monitored by temporary traffic lights.

Pedestrian crossing nearby are also out of action, so anyone needing to cross the road should either be alert to all streams of traffic or walk further along the road.
