Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue are searching for new recruits to join their on-call firefighting team at Lincoln’s southern fire station on South Park.

A recruitment day is being held at the station on December 3 from 10am until 2pm and aims to give anyone who is 18 or above and in good health an opportunity to see what the role involves.

The fire service’s recruitment pod will be used to give potential firefighters a chance to undergo the actual physical tests required with offers on hand to give advice and answer questions.

Karl Foxall of the recruitment team explained that recruitment events give people a feel for working in the fire service and the chance to learn about the application process.

He said: “We will talk you through the application process alongside the physical and written requirements for the role and you can even have an informal interview to get the ball rolling.”

He also added how the job is an ideal way for people to serve their community.

“If you’re looking for an exciting, challenging and rewarding way to serve your local community, please come us see us,” said Foxall.

There is more information about what it is like to be a firefighter and the training process online and on the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue website.
