Christmas spirit: The first evening of the Lincoln Christmas Market was bustling with visitors checking out some of the 256 stalls uphill.

The annual Lincoln Christmas Market was officially opened by the Mayors of Lincoln and twin city Neustadt on December 1 on the Cathedral steps.

More than 150,000 people are expected to visit the market until December 4.

On Friday the market opens 10am to 9.30pm, on Saturday from 10am to 9.30pm and on Sunday between 10am to 7pm.

Motorists will be restricted in uphill Lincoln; a Park and Ride service is in place from the Lincolnshire Showground, starting at £12 per car (concessions available).
