Minster School head leaves after just one term

Departure: One of Lincoln Minster School’s heads has stepped down from the role after june one term.

The headmaster of the Preparatory School of Lincoln Minister School has resigned from his post after just three months in the role.

In a letter to parents, Greg Das Gupta announced that he left the role at the end of December 2011, after taking up the post in September.

The reason for his departure is due to unfortunate family issues.

He started the role in the midst of the merger of St Mary’s Minster Preparatory School and the Preparatory School of Lincoln Minister School.

Das Gupta said: “It has given me pleasure to lead the initial stages of the merger of two outstanding prep schools.

“The children in the school have been delightful and I wish them all the very best for their futures.

“Similarly, I would like to thank the staff and parents for their support and kindness during this term. I believe the future of the school is very bright.

“Although it has been with great sadness and with difficulty that my decision to leave has been made, I feel it is the right decision for me, my family and all involved at this time.

“I would only ask that my departure strengthens the unity within the school and the unquestionable path of pursuing the very best in everyone.”

The principal of Lincoln Minster School, Clive Rickart, will oversee the role until it is filled again.

He will be hosting regular surgeries for parents trying to get to grips with the new system implemented due to the merger or for any queries they may have, no appointment needed.
