Almost 13,000 visit Lincoln sexual health clinic in a year

Sexual health: Lindon House clinic sees almost 13,000 people in Lincoln in one year since it relocated to Dixon Street.

Almost 13,000 people in Lincoln visited the Lindon House sexual health clinic in one year since the service relocated to Dixon Street.

The free and confidential service saw 12,952 patients since January 2011.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) moved its services out of Lincoln County Hospital to Lindon House at 134 Dixon Street.

Now the Trust is urging anyone worried about their sexual health to make an appointment, especially in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.

Helen Oliver, Clinical Nurse Specialist for LCHS said: “The approach to Valentine’s Day is an ideal time to think not only about contraception, but having a check up.

“We offer diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, advice, support, HIV testing, Hepatitis B vaccination and referral to other services.

“Free condoms and emergency contraception are also available. Just call the central booking line on 01522 539145 to schedule an appointment.”

Lindon House is open 8.30am to 7.30pm from Monday to Thursday and from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays. 15-24 year olds can order a Chlamydia self testing kit online.
