Police warning over thefts from unlocked cars in Lincoln

Lock up! Police urge city residents to make sure their cars are locked after a series of thefts in the south of Lincoln.

Police are urging drivers to lock their cars after a number of thefts from unsecured cars in the south of Lincoln this week.

Thieves got into an unlocked Honda 4×4 in Railway Park Close, between 11pm on March 21 and 6am on March 22 and stole cash and two rucksacks containing hiking equipment.

Criminals also got into an unlocked Fiat Punto in Earls Drive (pictured), overnight on the same night and a sat nav, Bluetooth kit and handbag were stolen.

Officers are urging drivers in the city to make sure their lock their vehicles when they leave them unattended.

Police are also urging people to report any suspicious activity around vehicles as soon as possible on 101, or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
