Overnight closures set for section of A46

A46 resurfacing: Diversions will be in place as the stretch of the A46 around Lincoln will be closed for resurfacing.

The section of the A46 from Doddington Road roundabout to Skellingthorpe Road roundabout will be closed overnight for two days for resurfacing.

The road will be closed on April 19 and 20, between 8pm and 6am.

Traffic will be diverted via Newark Road, Tritton Road and Saxilby Road and vice versa.

Guy Blumer, Highways principal engineer, said: “We need to close this road to allow us to join the new surfacing to the north of the Doddington Road roundabout.

“This work is being carried out overnight to minimise disruption to motorists.

“Future closures are likely to be necessary over the next six months while we make every effort to complete this exciting development on schedule.”

As part of the Teal Park business development near Lincoln, the project will also see the removal of traffic islands on the A46 for ongoing traffic management.
