Burglars hinge off door at West Parade house

Burglaries: while one burglary lead to a front door being removed, another in the city left with a large number of cigarettes.

Police are looking for information after a front door was removed from its frame in order to burgle a property in Lincoln.

The incident happened on May 3 between 8.15am and 3pm on West Parade at a house near the West Common.

Offenders removed the door then searched the house, stealing a jewellery box and electronics.

Lincolnshire Police believe the burglary would have taken a long time, and other residents, dog walkers and horse riders might have seen the door being removed.

Anyone who thinks they saw anything in the area at that time should contact DC Cath Leeman on 101, quoting incident number 300 of May 3.

Meanwhile in another part of Lincoln, in an unrelated incident, two men burgled a property on Moorland Avenue at around 1.15pm.

They told the woman living at the address they needed to search the property, and proceeded to steal a number of cigarettes.

Both men are believed to be in their 30s and were dressed in black. One was short and balding, with a round face, while the other was tall and broad.

Anyone with information on this incident should also contact DC Cath Leeman, quoting incident number 199 of May 3.
