Lincoln police to mark bikes free for security

Bike security: Lincoln cyclists have the chance get their bikes security marked for free this weekend.

Lincoln cyclists have the chance get their bikes security marked for free this weekend.

Lincolnshire Police’s city bike theft unit will be on hand outside the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel on Brayford Wharf on Sunday, May 20, between 10am and 3pm.

PC Matt Roberts will be bike marking, fitting immobilise tags and offering general crime prevention advice.

PC Roberts said: “We are really getting to grips with this issue in Lincoln now and several arrests have been made.

“But we also all need to take our bike security into consideration to reduce the amount of opportunities for criminals.

“So please come along, get your bike marked and have a chat about how you can protect your property better,” he added.
