Two men charged with murder of Sonny Grey

Charged: Two men have been charged with the murder of Sonny Grey and are set to appear in court.

— Update: Robert Michael Holmes (23) from Wisbech has also been charged with the murder of Sonny Grey.

Meanwhile, Rocky Curtis (24) will appear in Lincoln Court on May 3, while the 49-year-old woman has been released on police bail until July 6, pending further enquiries.

Officers on Monday arrested three men in connection with the murder of Grey (70) at his home on October 29, 2011 in Westwick Gardens, Lincoln.

One of the men, Rocky Curtis (24) from Wisbech was charged with murder. He will appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court on May 1.

Another 24-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman from the same area are still in custody, helping with police enquiries.

There are a number of previous arrests mounting up to this case. They are:

  • Two 18-year-old men, who were arrested in connection with the offence then were on police bail, but have had that bail cancelled.
  • A 27-year-old man is due to answer police bail on May 3.
  • A 29-year-old man is due to answer police bail on June 20.
  • A 29-year-old man died while on police bail in relation to this matter. This is not being treated as suspicious.

Sonny Grey died in hospital from burns sustained by being scalded with a kettle after three robbers attacked him in his home.

Officers are still recovering jewellery stolen by the attackers from the scene.
