Nine-year-old school girl sexually assaulted in Lincoln

“Extremely rare, isolated incident”: Police appealing for witness in relation to a sexual assault on a nine-year-old Lincoln school girl.

A nine-year-old school girl was approached and indecently assaulted by a man in Lincoln.

The incident happened on Friday, May 18 on Manby Street, at the junction with Newark Road at around 7:55am.

The offender was 5ft 6in to 5ft 9in tall, white and spoke with a foreign accent.

He was in his early twenties, with a stubbly beard and was wearing a black or brown leather jacket with buttons, dark trousers, pointed shoes and a flat cap with a peak. He was carrying a camouflage shoulder bag.

Insp Shaun Baxter said: “This is an extremely rare, isolated incident and we are urging parents to remain calm and to take the normal common sense approach to stranger danger with their children.

“We have extensive patrols in the area and our officers are visiting all the local schools.

“This is a fairly detailed description and there would have been a number of people in the area at that time of day.

“Please come forward if you think you know this person, if you think you witnessed this incident, or if you saw someone fitting this description running away from the area.”
