Free security to tackle bike theft in Lincoln

Secure bike: Police are offering Lincoln cyclists free UV security marking and advice for their bikes.

Lincolnshire Police are offering Lincoln cyclists free UV security marking and advice for their bikes.

People will be able to bring their bikes to police stands situated around Lincoln for UV marking, and Immobilise tagging (£5).

The service will be available during this week, at the following locations:

  • University of Lincoln on Wednesday, June 28 between 12 and 3pm
  • Brayford Pool North, opposite the Hilton Hotel on Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22 between 9:30am and 3pm.

Information on general cycle security will also be on offer from PC Matt Roberts and an Immobilise expert.

Immobilise forms a very effective tool in helping to reduce crime and repatriate recovered personal property to its rightful owners.

PC Roberts said: “We’re making real progress in terms of tackling bike theft in Lincoln and the more people who get their bikes tagged and marked the better.

“Please pop along and have a chat with us about how you can protect your property better,” he added.
