A Right Royal Visit: Lincoln Castle holds themed event to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with Medieval merriment and beacon lighting.

Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council Robert Palmer lit up one of the three beacons at Lincoln Castle

More than 2,500 people gathered at Lincoln Castle on Monday evening to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in a Medieval atmosphere.

Walkabout musicians, mummers, and a Medieval puppet show were among the entertainment on the evening, which was free to attend.

Shortly after 10pm, three beacons were lit as part of a chain across the county, country, and other parts of the Queen’s realms.

Lighting the beacons were Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council Robert Palmer, the Mayor of Lincoln Karen Lee and Lincolnshire Lord-Lieutenant Tony Worth.
