In pictures: £8m Deans sports complex ready

Stay fit: We take a tour of Lincoln College’s Deans Centre, which is now finished and ready to open for public use later in July.

Lincoln College’s £8 million Deans Centre sports complex will be open to the public on July 21.

The new complex created 26 part and full time jobs and features a variety of facilities that will be accessible to students and residents in Lincoln.

There are three treatment rooms with dry flotation, a hair salon, a hydrotherapy pool, a 4-metre climbing wall and a 40-station fitness suite.

Ian Sackree, Vice Principal of Corporate Resources at Lincoln College explained the first-class facilities can be enjoyed by all residents.

He said: The centre is located in the heart of the community and we want to welcome everybody to enjoy it. The brand new centre opens on 21 July and we encourage the public to come and see everything that Deans has to offer. We believe this really is the best facility of its kind in the area.”

Lesley Taylor, the Deans Centre Manager, added: “Visitors can socialise in our internet café, relax in the spa, indulge in hair and beauty treatments, reach new heights with our climbing wall or trampoline area or have an intense work-out in the gym. There really is something for all of the family.”

Membership options at Deans Centre start from £20 per month for fitness and spa memberships, up to £25 per month for all the facilities available.

The Lincolnite went on Friday for a tour of the new building to check out the facilities. Here are our photos:
