Lincoln woman assaulted on footbridge

Serious assault: A Lincoln woman was assaulted on a footbridge in the city centre last night.

Police are appealing for information after a local woman was assaulted in Lincoln last night.

The incident happened on July 24 at around 6pm on the footbridge between St Mary’s Street and the Tentercroft Street Car Park.

A 28-year-old woman was assaulted, then treated on scene for a cut to the back of her neck and arm.

Police have arrested a 32-year-old local man and a 22-year-old local woman, who are helping them with enquiries.

Lincolnshire police are appealing for anyone in the area who may have seen the attack to contact DC Nick Hakes at Lincoln CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
