Lincoln teenager eyes Miss Teen GB title

Beauty pageant: A Lincoln teenager has made it through to the grand final of a national pageant.

A Lincoln teenager will compete in a national pageant this month.

Ellie Chatterton, having fought off competition from hundreds of girls to be named Miss Teen Lincoln, will take part in the grand final of Miss Teen Great Britain on September 30.

She will compete with 60 girls from across the country, and will also be raising money for the event’s nominated charity, the Claire House Children’s Hospice.

The pageant, held at The Globe Theatre at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, will celebrate teenagers’ personalities and achievements.

Miss Teen Great Britain 2012 will receive £1000, plus £500 to spend at The Dress Studio, a modelling portfolio with FAB Photoshoots, make-up from Beauty UK, products from I Love…Cosmetics, and a two-night break at a Puma Hotel.

During the grand final weekend, the girls will also visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach and have a pyjama party.

“Miss Teen Great Britain is about much more than a pretty face, we do not call it a beauty contest.

“The aim of the competition is to celebrate teenagers, their ambitions and their achievements.

“Fifty percent of the judging is based on an interview with the judges, it is their personality that truly counts,” said Holly Ikin, organiser of Miss Teen Great Britain.

“Ellie has done fantastically to make it to the grand final of the competition, we were overwhelmed by the high standard of applicants for 2012. She has a great, natural look and we are excited to have her in the competition.”
