Red Arrows make a flying visit to Russia

Flying visit: The Red Arrows will be paying a visit to Russia as part of special celebrations for its air force.

The Red Arrows will be making a journey to Moscow on Thursday.

The RAF Scampton-based team will fly over to Moscow after an invitation form the Russian Federation Air Force.

The Russian Air Force formed on August 12 1912, and the Red Arrows appearance is part of their Centenary Celebrations.

Sqn Ldr Jim Turner,who flies Red 1, said: “We are delighted to be part of the Centenary Celebrations for the Russian Federation Air Force and will be performing two displays in Moscow this weekend.

“This is an amazing opportunity to work with our Russian partners on such a high-profile event, which will enhance the reputation of the UK’s Armed Forces throughout the world.”
