New jobs have been created at a pub in Lincoln recently taken over by local businessmen.

The Green Dragon in Broadgate has been leased to the Lemon Day Pub Company, a Lincolnshire leisure retail firm.

Between ten and 15 new jobs have been created by the takeover.

The pub, leased by Banks Long & Co, is now opening daily from 11am through until closing time, serving real ales, coffees, lunches and evening meals from 6pm to 9pm.

Followers of a marketing campaign on Twitter told the group they are keen to see The Green Dragon regain its historic popularity.

“They care about what is happening in Lincoln and they told us they wanted a great lunchtime offer, a good evening dining experience, a fresh kitchen serving local produce, great service and value for money,” said Andrew Rudolf, the Green Dragon’s General Manager.

The Green Dragon’s new ownership may begin offering live entertainment at the venue, which can also cater for parties of up to 150 people. Mr Rudolf added that people have already asked about Christmas Party bookings.

“We were attracted to The Green Dragon because it is a beautiful building which is stunning inside and also in a great location. It has three floors and lots of potential.”
