Couple charged with 61 charity fraud offences

Charity fraud: Nettleham couple charged in relation to alleged fraud offences involving a charity for people with learning disabilities.

A couple from Nettleham near Lincoln have been charged in relation to alleged fraud offences involving a charity.

Peter Childs (60) from Nettleham has been charged with 32 offences including false accounting, fraud by abuse of position and theft in relation to Mencap.

Alison Childs (46), of the same address, has been charged with 29 offences including false accounting, fraud by abuse of position and theft in relation to Mencap.

Mencap is the charity for people with a learning disability.

Both have been released on police bail to appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court on January 8, 2013.
