Gift of giving: Hundreds of people donated and celebrated the lives of loved ones with St Barnabas’ special procession through uphill Lincoln

Hundreds of people walked through the streets of uphill Lincoln on Tuesday evening, November 28, to remember a loved one or occasion as part of a charity event.

St Barnabas’ annual Light up a Life event celebrate or remember the lives of friends and family by dedicating a light to someone special on the Trees of Life, outside Lincoln Cathedral.

Starting at Clayton Sports Ground and Our Lady of Lincoln Church, residents walked to Lincoln Cathedral with wax candles and lanterns as part of their dedication.

After reaching the Trees of Life, there followed a short celebratory service.

This year, to celebrate the 30th year of Caring for Life, St Barnabas hopes to raise £106,666 from the Light up a Life Appeal — this amount covers the cost of our hospice care for Christmas week across Lincolnshire.
