Cyclist rescued from under lorry at Lincoln junction

Trapped: A junction in Lincoln has been closed off after a female cyclist became trapped under a lorry.

A cyclist has been rescued from under a lorry at a junction in Lincoln.

The woman was trapped under the lorry after a collision with a blue Scania HGV at the pedestrian crossing at High Street and St Mark’s.

The 57-year-old Lincoln woman was riding a white and red cycle.

The HGV was driven by a 56-year-old Scunthorpe man, towing a white trailer.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and Lincolnshire Police were called to the scene at around 9.23am to attend the incident.

Emergency services released the trapped woman and she was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with serious leg injuries.

Her condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed, re-opening before midday.
