Christmas lights celebrate university’s new art building under construction

Under construction: The University of Lincoln marks advancing construction work at its new Architecture, Art and Design building on the Brayford campus.

The University of Lincoln has marked advancing construction work at its new Architecture, Art and Design building.

The £7.3 million project carried out by Lindum has a complicated external design with white brick and mortar features.

The building is situated in a restricted areas next to the railway. It will include classrooms and seminar spaces, open plan studios, smaller studios, computer suites and staff office space.

The building is expected to open in summer 2013, and will incorporate a sculpture terrace and public gallery.

It will also include a low level section that maintains the uninterrupted views of Lincoln Cathedral from Tritton Road.
