New cuisine: A new steak restaurant has opened in Lincoln, offering traditional Lincolnshire recipes and meaty dishes.

A new restaurant has opened its doors in Lincoln city centre, offering locals a taste of locally produced meat and creating 25 jobs.

Lincolnshire Red steak house replaced the former Essence bar on Mint Street, with a variety of different meats on the menu as well as steak.

The restaurant is managed by Christopher Regan and Mark Cumming, who also own The Cloud Bar in uphill Lincoln, and refurbished Ye Olde Crowne Inn.

Diners can enjoy a traditional steak house menu with a twist, and also watch their food being prepared in the open kitchen.

Starters begin at £5.25, while different steak cuts are individually priced by weight. Other main courses begin at £7.95, with desserts like sticky toffee pudding finishing the meal at £4.
