Drop in punctuality for Lincoln train service providers

Arriving late: The three main train service providers for Lincoln and Lincolnshire have seen a drop in their punctuality over the year, according to Network Rail.

The three main train service providers for Lincoln and Lincolnshire have seen a drop in their punctuality over the year, according to Network Rail.

Results from December to present show East Midlands Trains, Northern Rail and East Coast all saw a drop in punctuality in the 2012-2013 period in comparison to 2011-2012.

East Midlands Trains has a punctuality rating of 89.3%, a drop of 3.8%, while Northern Rail dropped to 88% from 89.6% previously.

The biggest drop was East Coat Trains, who provide a direct train between Lincoln and London, which dropped to 77.2%. In 2011-12, it was at 84.5%.

However, from the UK overall, the Lincolnshire services placed average on the scale.

The overall punctuality of train services in the UK stayed roughly the same at 88.2% — the previous year was 88.8%.

c2c Rail, which runs trains in London and the south east, had the best punctuality this year at 98%, with Virgin Trains being the least punctual at 75.8%.
