Attempted robbery: Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in his own home in North Hykeham.

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in his own home in North Hykeham.

This incident took place between 7pm and 7.30pm at a caravan park off Chapel Lane, North Hykeham on Thursday night.

A 55-year-old man answered the door to his caravan and was assaulted by a man. He was punched and was later treated at hospital for a minor head injury.

It is thought that two men searched the property, but nothing is believed to have been stolen. One of the men is described as white, around 5ft 7in tall and skinny. He was wearing dark clothing. There is no description of the other offender.

Lincolnshire Police are asking anyone who was in the area of Chapel Lane and this time and saw any suspicious looking people or vehicles to call them immediately.
