Snow forecast for Lincolnshire this weekend

Braced for snow: The Met Office is forecasting snow showers are likely to affect parts of Lincolnshire this weekend.

The Met Office is forecasting that snow showers are likely to affect parts of Lincolnshire this weekend.

The snow fall is expected on Sunday, while the amount of snow is likely to be highly variable, with some places seeing very little.

Temperatures for Lincoln are expected to drop to 1°C towards Sunday. More on our Weather page.

However, forecasters say 5-10 cm could accumulate locally, particularly above 100 metres, with icy surfaces an additional hazard.

There is potential for localised disruption to travel.

Lincolnshire County Council is monitoring the forecasts and said gritters will be out over the weekend when necessary.
