The Met Office issued a yellow warning of snow for the Lincolnshire area, starting Friday through to Sunday.

The Met Office is advising people should avoid all non-essential journeys during this period. The public should be prepared for disruption, including altering travel plans.

Forecasters expect a band of snow, heavy in places, lasting through the afternoon and evening across much of the region. Winds will strengthen, leading to drifting of lying snow.

Highs of -1°C are expected for Lincoln on Friday, maintaining through Saturday, with a maximum of 0°C forecast for Sunday. More details on our weather page.

Lincolnshire County Council’s fleet of 43 gritters will be out across the county treating the A and B roads during this period.
