New Lincoln shop brings together crafts and cake

Clever craft: A Lincoln graduate has opened her own shop in the city, selling a mix of crafts, gifts and homemade cake.

A graduate from the University of Lincoln has opened up her first business in Lincoln city centre.

Rock Paper Scissors is a cafe, gift shop and “crafterie” run by Elizabeth Dimmock from a unit at 18 Guildhall Street.

The shop offers local and national craft and design items, from illustrations, home wares, jewellery and greeting cards, to books on art and craft, cookery and for children.

All of these items are also available to buy from the their online shop.

In the cafe, customers can taste a range of teas and coffee, and pieces of homemade cake. Everything is served on vintage crockery.

Elizabeth said: “When people see the store, I hope they will see the time, effort and love that we’ve put into this venture and we want the city to share in that, it’s the kind of place I’ve always dreamt of creating in Lincoln.”

She added: “It is so important at a time like this that we can support local designers and makers and give them an outlet for their amazing creations.

“There is such a wealth of talent on offer and we’re literally trying to give them a shop window for their work.”

A number of special events will be held at Rock Paper Scissors, ranging from one off fun night to craft afternoons and longer crafting courses.
