Council schedules live Twitter Q&A over car park closure

#LucyTowerHour: City of Lincoln Council leader Ric Metcalfe will answer questions on Twitter about the closure for more than four months of the Lucy Tower car park on the Brayford.

City of Lincoln Council leader Ric Metcalfe will answer questions on Twitter about the closure for more than four months of the Lucy Tower car park on the Brayford.

The £1.1 million works will begin on March 25 and are expected to last around 20 weeks, with a reopening date some time in August.

Lucy Tower has 458 spaces and is used on average by 350 motorists per day, with the closure set to impact motorists and nearby businesses.

Councillor Ric Metcalfe will be answering any questions on Lucy Tower through the @lincolncouncil Twitter on Wednesday, March 13, from 12.30pm.

The council leader said: “We appreciate the closure of Lucy Tower Car Park will cause disruptions, but the works are essential to preserve the site’s future.

“Due to the number of people set to be affected, it is important they understand why we have made this decision. I look forward to answering any questions people may have on the closure.”
