New visitor signage at Lincoln gateway road

Fresh look: New signs have been installed to promote a calendar of events for visitors entering Lincoln by one of its main access routes.

New signs have been installed to promote a calendar of events for visitors entering Lincoln by one of its main access routes.

The City of Lincoln Council signs in front of the Grandstand, a familiar site to drivers using Carholme Road, have been refreshed.

The new signs were put up this week. They were created with Visit Lincoln and include Lincoln Castle, the cathedral and the Red Arrows.

Visit Lincoln manager Emma Tatlow said: “On a key gateway into the city these signs are a really useful tool to inform visitors, residents and people travelling into the city.

“Hopefully they will inspire people to come back and give them a flavour of the variety of events in the city,” she added.

City Council Economic Sustainability and Tourism Programmes Manager Halina Davies said: “It is important that we make people aware of the vast range of events and attractions the city has to offer and these signs are an effective way of highlighting those to thousands of people each day.”
