New special deals for Lincoln council car parks

Special offers: The City Council is introducing three special deals at its car parks to encourage more people to come to Lincoln.

The City of Lincoln Council have developed three new parking tariffs in order to help encourage more people into the city.

On Mondays, there will be a 25% discount on all parking tariffs if the PayByPhone system across council car parks.

A Savvy Shopper tariff is also being introduced if motorists park at Tentercroft Street, which is a flat rate of £2 from 3pm onwards.

Finally, there will be a Summer Special at Rosemary Lane, where parking will be £2 all day between July and August.

The schemes are included as part of the changes to the 2013/14 parking tariffs that started on April 1.

Changes included a rise of between 20p and £1 in some tariffs, though most car parking in Lincoln was frozen for another year.

These three new tariffs are in addition to other special tariffs across the city.

Rod Williamson, City Services Team Leader at the City of Lincoln Council, said: “We understand parking is a really important factor people consider when coming into Lincoln, and having affordable spaces supports the city’s businesses and economy.

“It is appreciated there have been some issues with parking over the last few weeks, but we want to be able to thank drivers for their patience and support by giving something back through these new tariffs.”

More schemes will be launched at Thornbridge once it reopens in the coming weeks.

You can register your vehicle for the PayByPhone scheme by visiting paybyphone.co.uk, or following the instructions at council car parks.
